Hi! It's been a very productive day off, some things went well and some... not :D I'm not quite sure how it's possible but I managed to screw up Finnish brownies or whatever they're called in English (mokkapalat). Again. You'd think I would have screwed up every way possible by putting coffee grounds in the frosting and the frosting in the oven but oh no. We were making the brownies with my dad and little brother for my brother's school's bake sale tomorrow and because I suck at baking, I mixed the ingredients together wrong so that it all turned into goo... Pictures of this fiasco below. Maybe someday I'll manage to get brownies right :D Tomorrow I'm seeing two lovely ladies in town and then we'll go make decorations for the big youth evening next month (hopefully pictures later)!

Hey! My day didn't start anywhere near the way I'd hoped, everything went fine until it was time to take my outfit pictures before leaving for work. I stepped outside, made sure the door wouldn't lock behind me, and closed it. I took the pictures. I tried to go back inside. The door was locked. It was not a nice feeling to realize that you were locked out of your own house in the sub-zero day with nothing but your not-so-warming clothes and camera. I tried to find the spare key under a whole pile of stuff but it had been moved. I ran around our house starting to freeze and panic but every other door was locked too. My brothers wouldn't get home from school for hours, my phone was inside, and I would have to catch the bus now or I would be late for work... So all there was to do was go ask the nice lady next door if I could borrow her phone to call Dad and ask where the stupid spare key was.
In the end I found the spare key, got inside, and was only late for work 15 minutes. I had to buy a packet of coffee for the very nice lady next door to thank her for inviting me in and letting me use her phone :) She said kindly that it could happen to anyone and I was welcome any time to ask for help (next time I'm so gonna make sure the door doesn't lock behind me)! If any of you have been in the same situation, I'd like to hear about it to save my ego from more bruises :D There's going to be a storm tonight so my plan is to curl under the duvet and watch Glee.

Hi! You know those days when not everything goes according to plan? My work shifts had changed a little for the rest of the month so yesterday I thought my shift started at two when of course it started already at one... Luckily I noticed my mistake and had just enough time to throw on the first clothes in my closet, get myself ready, and make it to the bus that got me to work just in time! Today the security guards probably got a good laugh watching me kicking empty cardboard boxes outside to the dumpsters :D I can never get a good grip of those big flattened boxes and they keep spilling on the floor until I lose my patience! Has anyone else had bad luck lately?

Hi! Yesterday morning when I looked out the window the weather was so nice, the sun was shining and the skies were blue, so I thought I'd take some pictures on my way to work. It went well from our house to the bus stop (all the photos in this post are from that trip), but when the bus drove closer to town the rain started pouring down... I thought "OK, this isn't so bad, I have my umbrella with me!" I couldn't take any pictures but would have been glad to get to work dry. No chance of that happening of course :D
When I was walking on the bridge that goes over the freeway it started to rain like crazy and I clutched my canvas bag with the camera in it to my chest so it wouldn't get wet. Still I thought I could get to work with just wet shoes but oh no. Than the hail started coming down and the wind blew from behind that soon my behind was soaked through two layers of skirt and the tights... By the time I got to shelter my Converse sneakers were soaked and squishy with water and I was getting pretty cold, fast. The bright side: my camera was nice and dry :D Ellu saved me by bringing a dry pair of sweatpants I'd forgotten at the cottage a while back, and I spent most of the work day bare foot: a very casual Friday!
